If you are installing a PreCise device that has been previously used in a different asset, it is important to purge any residual data that may still exist on the device.


Forcing the device to connect to the PreCise servers while not associated with an asset will purge any residual data from the device.  To do this, please follow the instructions below.


Before associating the device with the asset in the Precise website, install the device into the asset > make sure the asset is outside with a clear view of the sky and in an area with cell coverage or PreCise WiFi access point coverage> start the ignition for the asset> look at the LED lights on the device to make sure it is connected and sending data> let the asset run for a few minutes> turn the ignition off of the asset> open the Precise web site> admin> assets> edit the asset> select the ICC ID for the device from the “Device MAC ID/ICC ID:” drop down and click submit> start the ignition for the asset again> open “My Equipment” from the Precise web site to make sure the asset is reporting.
